Level 7: Easy to Chew / Regular | 40 min | Serves 2

## Family version

- Baked pear
- Vanilla custard
- Oat crumble
- Nuts

## Level 7 ingredients

- 2 ripe pears, peeled and cored
- 220 ml thick smooth vanilla custard
- Water for baking

## Method

1. Bake the peeled pears covered with a little water until completely tender, without a dry or caramelized edge.
2. Use the side of a fork to cut the widest part. It should break apart easily without a knife.
3. Serve with thick smooth custard and no separated thin syrup.
4. Fork-pressure test several pear pieces. Leave crumble, nuts, skins, and seeds off this serving.

## Equipment

Covered baking dish, fork for cutting and pressure testing

## Practical tip

Choose ripe pears and keep them covered while baking so the surface stays soft.

## Before serving

Run the appropriate IDDSI fork and spoon tests on the finished serving. Recipes guide the preparation; only testing confirms how the serving behaves.

## Safety

Use only the food and drink levels prescribed by the person's qualified clinician. Test the actual serving before it is eaten or drunk.
