Can I ask an SLP a free question here?
You can search our existing educational answers for free now. A limited human Ask an SLP Q&A pilot is planned, but it is not accepting questions yet. You can sign up for an email if it opens.
Everyday questions, clearer explanations
Start with published answers about food textures, IDDSI terms, and preparing for a swallowing-care visit. The answer finder is free. A separate, limited Q&A with a speech-language pathologist is planned and is not open yet.
Search existing swallowing guides and definitions. This is not a live chat with an SLP.
Use a general topic, without names or personal health details. Your text is searched in this browser; it is not sent to our team or saved by this finder.
You can also browse all answers or look up a swallowing term.
For questions about a particular person, ask their treating SLP or clinician. This finder does not interpret test results, select diet levels, or change a care plan.
The idea is simple: help people understand everyday swallowing-care terms and prepare better questions for their own care team. An educational question might ask what a food-texture term means or where to find an official testing guide.
The pilot would not provide diagnosis, a personal diet prescription, an emergency response, or a replacement for an SLP visit. A launch date, availability, and reply timeframe have not been set.
Get an email if our limited, free Ask an SLP pilot opens. Questions are not being accepted yet.

The finder points to articles already published by Follow Your Swallow. It does not create a new answer or send your search to a clinician. Open an article to read its sources and review status.
No. Published answers and the planned Q&A are general education. They cannot diagnose a swallowing problem, choose an IDDSI level, recommend exercises for an individual, or change medication instructions. Those decisions belong with the person's qualified care team.
There is no current reply service or promised turnaround. Joining the notification list does not submit a question or reserve a response. Availability and response limits will be explained if the pilot opens.
Only your email address and your interest in the planned Q&A. It does not ask for patient names, symptoms, medical records, photos, or videos. Do not put health information in the email field.
