Hearty Beef Stew Dinner
4The family’s version
- Slow-simmered beef stew
- Carrots, potatoes, peas
- Crusty bread
- Rich gravy
The Level 4 version
- 250 g stewed beef, very tender
- 150 g cooked potatoes and carrots from the pot
- 200 ml warm stew gravy, strained
- 1 tbsp butter
- Commercial thickener as needed
Convert it
- Make the family stew as usual — low and slow until the beef falls apart.
- Blend the beef with warm strained gravy until completely smooth; it should mound on a spoon, not pour.
- Blend the vegetables separately with butter and a little gravy; sieve to catch any pea skins or fibers.
- If any liquid weeps out as it sits, stir in a touch of thickener and re-check.
- Plate as separate mounds and run the spoon tilt test on each component before serving. No bread on this plate.
EquipmentHigh-speed blender, sieve, optional purée molds
SLP tipBlend components separately — a single brown purée reads as 'mystery food,' but three distinct mounds still look like stew night.
Before serving: run the spoon tilt and fork drip tests on the finished plate. Recipes guide you to a texture — only the test confirms it.
