Serving illustration. Follow the measurements below and run the IDDSI test before serving.

The family’s version

  • Peach oat smoothie
  • Sliced peaches
  • Toasted oat topping

The Level 3 version

  • 120 g canned peaches in juice, drained
  • 25 g quick oats, cooked very soft
  • 150 g smooth yogurt
  • 100 ml milk
  • Pinch of cinnamon
  • Commercial thickener as needed
  1. Cook the oats until fully broken down and soft, then cool slightly.
  2. Blend oats, drained peaches, yogurt, milk, and cinnamon for at least 2 minutes.
  3. Press through a fine sieve to remove peach fibers and any oat flecks.
  4. Adjust and run the 10 mL syringe test; more than 8 mL should remain after 10 seconds, but some must still flow.
  5. Serve without fruit pieces or oat topping, and re-test if the smoothie has been refrigerated.
EquipmentSmall pot, blender, fine sieve, 10 mL syringe
SLP tipOats continue absorbing liquid after blending, so test again if breakfast waits more than a few minutes.

Before serving: run the spoon tilt and fork drip tests on the finished plate. Recipes guide you to a texture. Only the test confirms it.
